Yannis Karalis

Yannis Karalis was born in small town Grevena, Greece in 1984. He commenced with engineering in automatic systems, but soon turned towards performative arts. He studied dance, improvisation and performance, partly at the National School of Orchestral Art in Greece, Athens and fully at TIP,  Freiburg and has been working as a dancer, choreographer, dramaturg, teacher and performer since 2009. He is currently based in Berlin.

 His work engages elements from singing, storytelling, abstract expression, drag and dance. He is currently exploring the topic of transformation and shame in personal, as well as social-cultural context.
